MARCH 21ST IS WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY
Down Syndrome is a genetic condition affecting the 21st chromosome. While most people have two copies, individuals with Down Syndrome have three. People with Down Syndrome can have varying degrees of developmental delays, and distinct facial features. While it is a wide spectrum, many individuals with Down Syndrome go on to live full and happy lives. Children with Down Syndrome are more likely to be born with congenital heart defects and are more prone to sleep apnea and ear infections. Thousands of children with Down Syndrome all over the world are waiting for forever families, and these are just a few of them. Could one of these kids be your son or daughter?
