"Myla"
Meet beautiful miss "Myla"! Myla is 11 years old and living in South America. She is diagnosed with a developmental delay, intellectual disability, depression, and ADHD.
Myla has stated that she enjoys going to school, even though it is difficult for her. She enjoys doing art. She is a friendly and sociable girl. She feels most comfortable showing affection to familiar adults through hugs and kisses. She is not a shy girl, and takes initiative to start a conversation with new people! Myla likes playing soccer, drawing, and coloring. Her favorite dolls are Barbies, and she is afraid of the dark. Myla's favorite foods are spaghetti and hamburgers! She does not like broccoli. Myla loves to try different hairstyles, and wants to be a pilot when she grows up.
Myla is physically healthy, but has a traumatic past and as a result, some significant behaviors. Myla struggles in school and at times, especially when she doesn't get her way or something upsets her, is disruptive and aggressive towards peers. When she is upset, it is difficult for her to come to a positive and peaceful solution. Myla has made progress over the last few months in her ability to manage her frustration and impulses in a more calm and assertive way rather than aggressively. She does not always seek or accept help from adults when she is upset. Myla can follow simple instructions, but sometimes her mood hinders her from fulfilling them. Myla does not have great stamina and focus for most tasks, and gives up easily.
Myla goes to psychiatric therapy and takes daily medication for her behavior as well as insomnia.
Myla would do best in a family where she is the youngest or only child, and no pets. There is more private info available about Myla's past and more significant behaviors for seriously interested families.
Stories like "Myla"'s break my heart. A beautiful and social girl who has experienced so much trauma in her short life. Myla is not a "bad kid", and she deserves a family that is willing to meet all her needs and cheer her on. This sweet girl just wants somebody to love her. Please grant Myla's wish. She could make huge progress if just given the opportunity to. Don't see Myla as a girl with trauma and behaviors, see her as a child who loves drawing, is friendly, and is ready for a mama! Take a chance on Myla!
