"Mario"

Introducing sweet "Mario"! Mario is 7 years old and living in South America. In addition to being blind, Mario is also diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

Mario is an adorable boy who is described as "calm and cheerful"! He loves getting affection and praise from his caregivers. He loves music, and toys that make noise.

Mario only recently started walking, and can walk with support, and independently for about 3 steps. He gets around best by scooting on his bottom. Mario has been living in a foster family since January 2022 and has made tons of progress!

There is no information provided about Mario's eyesight, but he is blind.

"Mario" desperately needs access to quality medical care and therapies. He is a precious boy who could absolutely thrive in a family if given the opportunity. Please, don't let Mario grow up without a mama! Is he the missing piece to your family? I pray you don't have to wait much longer sweet boy!

UPDATE NOVEMBER 2022

Mario is not currently in school due to his diagnoses. He will get jealous if he is not the center of attention. Mario is very affectionate, and will use his hands to find his caregivers and give hugs! He can say basic words like "mom" and "dad" and will hum. Mario wears ankle braces to help him walk a few steps independently. He is most comfortable sitting on his knees. Mario is currently receiving occupational, physical, and speech therapies. He gets anxious when he is in a new environment or with new people, when there is complete silence, or when sudden loud noises happen. Mario doesn't like going to therapy and will get mad. He is happiest when his hair is combed, wearing new clothes, and playing with others. He also loves tickles, and has a special bond with his foster father. Mario sounds like with a consistent family who can provide for his needs, he would be an amazing son. Adoption is trauma, and though Mario's needs sound intimidating, he is still a little boy needing a forever family. I pray that this is his last holiday season as an orphan. Please, make him your son!
