CORPUS CALLOSUM AWARENESS DAY

JULY 2ND is CORPUS CALLOSUM AWARENESS DAY

Sharing some of my favorite children today with disorders of the corpus callosum. The corpus callosum is a large bundle of nerve fibers in the brain that connect the two hemispheres. It allows each side of the brain to communicate with each other. There are several disorders of the corpus callosum, that effect each individual differently. One of the most common is known as Agenesis of Corpus Callosum (ACC) in which the corpus callosum is partially or completely absent. Raising a child with a corpus callosum disorder can be tough, but so absolutely rewarding. Each of these children STILL wait for their forever families. Ask yourself, could that family be yours?
