"Mina"
Meet beautiful miss "Mina"! Mina is 8 years old and living in South America. She has a long list of diagnoses including arthrogryposis, osteogenesis imperfecta, glaucoma, and club foot. She possibly has Bruck Syndrome, but does not have an official diagnosis nor has she been tested.
Mina enjoys painting and playing "sleepover" with her friends. She loves going to the park, puzzles, singing, and music! Mina loves all genres, but she especially likes Tango! She likes to read books, and watching TV. Her favorite shows are Masha and the Bear and Puss in Boots.
No other information was given on Mina, but it can be assumed that she is likely immobile and has a visual impairment.
Mina is diagnosed with glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye condition in which the optic nerve is damaged as a result of fluid pressure buildup. Individuals with glaucoma may lose vision in one or both eyes, have a cloudy, enlarged cornea, and one eye may be larger than the other. Glaucoma is easily treated through surgery to relieve the pressure in the eye, in conjunction with eye drops or medications. Vision may be restored, but it almost always results in nearsightedness.
No information is provided about Mina's glaucoma but an agency can give more info.
Mina has $2,702.50 in her personal grant with Reece's Rainbow! She also has a $500 grant with Madison Adoptions!

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2024
Beautiful Mina now has an update! She has grown up so much, but is still so pretty! Seeing her new photos and update make me wish for a family for her even more. Please don't let her go another year without a family! From Madison Adoptions: Our staff met Mina in August 2024. Mina was very talkative and outgoing. She doesn’t allow her special needs to limit her. Mina knows how to start and maintain a conversation. She is very observant and knows how to ask questions and engage in it and the context. She uses very sophisticated words for a seven year old (it was impressive!!). She knows how to count in English from one to ten, knows some colors in English, knows the colors in Spanish. She has a great memory and can remember facts. Mina can easily expressed her thoughts and ideas.
