"Cale"

Introducing adorable baby "Cale"! Cale is 3 years old and living in South America. He is diagnosed with epilepsy, hyperphosphatemia, a developmental delay, and hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. Cale also has a feeding tube.

Cale loves to be cuddled and held. He enjoys listening to music, and feeling different textures.

Not much public information is available about Cale and is medical needs, but based on videos he does appear to be nonverbal, nonmobile, and fully dependent on his caregivers.

Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy, or HIE, is brain damage that occurs when an infant's brain does not receive enough oxygen and blood immediately before, during, or after birth. The symptoms and severity depend on how long the baby's brain went without oxygen, with the most severe cases impacting motor skills, epilepsy, and visual impairments. It is typically not progressive, and many children with HIE are also diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

No specific information is provided about Cale's diagnosis of HIE, but he appears to be severely impacted. As a result he does have an additional diagnosis of epilepsy. An agency can give more information about Cale's HIE and how it impacts him.

"Cale" is still a tiny boy. He desperately needs access to quality medical care and therapies before it's too late. He needs a family that will provide him with everything he needs and then some. He needs to know what it feels like to be a loved and cherished SON! Please don't overlook Cale!

Cale is also now listed on Reece's Rainbow where he has $25.20 in his personal grant! He also qualifies for a grant of up to $5,000 with RODS Heroes! Click the link to make an inquiry or donate towards his adoption!
