Scoliosis Awareness Month: ANDREW ! AGING OUT !

JUNE IS SCOLIOSIS AWARENESS MONTH

Listed April 2022

Andrew will be aging out in December 2024!

"Andrew"

Meet "Andrew"! Andrew is 15 years old and living in Western Europe. He is diagnosed with kyphoscoliosis, spina bifida, hydrocephalus, and neurogenic bladder. He also has a developmental delay.

Andrew is a sweet young man who likes to have conversation and spend time with peers. He enjoys going to school and having support from his teachers.

Andrew is able to share his feelings with others. He does have a learning disability but is very empathetic and understanding. He always does his best, and has good relationships with peers.

Andrew is diagnosed as having a clubfoot, but there are no specifics in his bio about how it affects him or if he has had surgery. An agency can give more info.

Andrew is diagnosed with scoliosis, more specifically kyphoscoliosis. Nearly half of children with Spina Bifida like Andrew have scoliosis. Kyphoscoliosis is a combination of Kyphosis and Scoliosis. Scoliosis causes an unnatural sideways spinal curve, while kyphosis causes an excessive outward spinal curve. So kyphoscoliosis is the development of an unnatural sideways and forward/backward spinal curve simultaneously.

Andrew is also diagnosed as having hydrocephalus. It is unknown whether or not he has had surgery or treatment, but an agency can give more info.

Not much info is provided about "Andrew", but its clear he is a very capable and caring boy just waiting for his forever family. Please don't let Andrew grow up without ever knowing the love of a mama. Could you be his family?

UPDATE NOVEMBER 2022

Andrew is described as being shy and introverted, but very sweet. He loves to be outdoors, and around nature and animals. He practices bocce, drums, adapted athletics, adapted sailing, and catechesis.

Andrew is a wonderful young man who is getting older and running out of time. He is so deserving of a family that will love him unconditionally, and give him the support he needs to thrive. Please don't let Andrew grow up an orphan!
