"Allegra"

Sharing beautiful "Allegra" for cleft palate awareness month! Allegra is 13 years old and living in Pacific Asia. She is diagnosed with a cleft palate, and Treacher Collins Syndrome.

cleft palate is an “opening or split in the roof of the mouth that occurs when the tissue doesn’t fuse together during development in the womb”.

Because of her cleft, Allegra does have a speech delay. She had surgery in 2015 to correct her cleft, but her speech has not improved. She is currently in speech therapy.

Allegra is a sweet girl who has good relationships with peers. Her favorite color is pink, and she loves to be held and snuggled!

Allegra is currently living in a foster family. She is a visually learner and generally understands concepts easier when presented visually. Allegra can eat independently.

Allegra's developmental delays are in the particular areas of speech and fine motor skills. Her cleft palate and nature of Treacher Collins Syndrome have likely contributed to her speech delay.

Allegra is currently receiving special education services at her school. In addition to speech therapy, Allegra also receives occupational therapy.

Allegra has a $500 grant towards her adoption with Madison Adoptions!

Children with cleft palates aren't scary! Allegra is a beautiful girl still waiting for her forever family. Is that family yours? Click the link to make an inquiry!
