JUNE IS CYTOMEGALOVIRUS AWARENESS MONTH

Listed September 2013

"Bentley"

Introducing adorable "Bentley"! Bentley is 12 years old, and living in Eastern Europe. In addition to having a hearing impairment, Bentley is also diagnosed with fetal alcohol syndrome and cytomegalovirus.

Bentley hasn't had an update since he was listed. The best way that his profile could be updated now is if someone were to make an inquiry.

Bentley likes to be left alone. He likes to sit in a special rocking chair. He is a sweet and adorable little boy!

There is no information provided about Bentley's hearing impairment but an agency could give more info. Many children with cytomegalovirus, like Bentley, have hearing loss.

As of 2013, Bentley could not sit, stand, or walk independently. He cries when he is picked up. Bentley is nonverbal. Bentley cannot pick up or play with toys, and at the time of his listing in 2013 was totally dependent on his caregivers.

There is no information about Bentley's CHD other than that he has a heart murmur. An agency can give more info.

Cytomegalovirus, or CMV, is a common infection that affects many people. Most people affected by CMV don't even realize they have it, as often there are mild to no symptoms at all. Children with CMV are more likely to have hearing loss, vision impairments, and developmental delays. CMV is the most common cause of non-genetic hearing loss at birth. There is no specific information listed about Bentley's CMV and how it affects him, but he does have a diagnosis of hearing loss and developmental delays, which could be a result of his CMV. An agency can give more info.

Bentley has a $5,000 grant towards his adoption with Reece's Rainbow!

This beautiful boy has been waiting so long for a family of his own. Though he will need lifelong care, Bentley would make for a wonderful son. The best way to get an update for Bentley would be to make an inquiry. Could "Bentley" be your son?
