AGED OUT

These children have aged out of American adoption, but may still be available in other countries. For reference, Canada, and the UK allow children to be adopted until their 18th birthday. The children listed below are in one of the countries listed below. Several other countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Ireland also allow for international adoption of children with special needs, though the process is much longer.

Canadians can adopt from China, Haiti, Ethiopia, Russia, Vietnam, Thailand, Ukraine, and Taiwan

Brits can adopt from South Africa, India, China, Bulgaria, and the Philippines

  1. Hello, I am heartbroken to see Teresa (sister of Tia on RR) has aged out. sounds like they are close, and Teresa really wanted a family for them. I hate that that may never happen, or that Tia may be adopted without Teresa. If there's any opportunity left, I will advocate for them. Are there any countries that allow adoption of older kids from LA. 2? or if you have any connections with PAPs from one of them? I don't know if Teresa is over 18, though. Thanks.

    1. No I don't think so. It's very sad. I hope Tia gets her chance eventually, but I do hate that they won't be together.
